Play the Rules, Keep it Legal

Any illegal activities (gambling, exchanges of cash for games, any other activities in violation of state or federal law) are not allowed on GreatLeague.com and GreatLeague.com leagues. Leagues may be suspended or possibly closed for engaging in illegal activity. Additionally, GreatLeague will cooperate with legal authorities in the investigation and prosecution of any illegal activities by our member leagues and their staff.

We also expect leagues and their members to abide by the rules of their gaming site, such as Yahoo Games or MSN Gaming Zone or the other site that hosts their games.

GreatLeague.com League Names

We reserve the right to ban, or require leagues to change, names that are racist, sexist or otherwise offensive to members of the leagues community on GreatLeague.com.

Misrepresentation

Members who mispresent themselves as staff of a league or GreatLeague.com will be removed and/or banned.

Gaming Sites

It is the responsbility of the admins of a league to find a suitable gaming site and room for their league games and tournaments. GreatLeague staff will, however, offer assistance in helping leagues match up with the best rooms on their gaming sites where applicable.

You may not host your league in a room where another GreatLeague.com league already has exclusive room rights.

Leagues will gain exclusive rights to use a room by obtaining and maintaining legitimately 100 or more active members. Leagues will gain rights to use a room, and share with one other league, by obtaining and maintaining legitimately at least 50 to 99 active members. Leagues previously at or above 50 or 100 active members that fall below 50 active members may be required to share with one or more leagues. Any league found to have falsified, padded, or created numerous duplicate accounts to obtain or maintain room rights will lose such rights.

Spamming and Recruiting

A league shall not spam the lobby of another GreatLeague.com league without permission of the league(s) having room rights in the room being spammed. Spamming, defined as post league advertisements in a gaming room, shall be always allowed in a league's own gaming room. We do, however, suggest keeping this spamming to a reasonable limit.

"Recruiting" shall be defined as inviting or asking players to join your league. Recruiting shall be allowed except those instances of knowingly recruiting a member of another league without having been asked to send an invite, or request to join, by the member recruited. In all instances of alleged recruiting, the burden of proof rests with the league claiming their members were recruited. That will league need to demonstrate that their member(s) were in fact recruited, and that the recruiting league could have known the member recruited is already in another GreatLeague.com league. Although GreatLeague.com does not prohibit the plundering of membership lists of leagues hosted on other league servers, we strongly advise against this practice because the best and most loyal members for a GreatLeague.com league will be new members who are not already in a league. With just thousands in other leagues and hundreds of thousands of players not yet in leagues, clearly it makes sense to seek out new players for your league.

When creating spinoff leagues, new leagues that include a few members who immediately before left another GreatLeague.com, our rules prohibit the spamming, recruiting or soliciting of members in that previous league without permission of the admins of that league.

Harassment and Intimidation

It will always be in violation of this league to harass members or staff of other leagues, or to attempt to influence how they run their leagues or achieve any other objective by threatening those in other leagues.

Leagues that set their public/private status to private shall, during their hours of customary operation, have at least one admin available during all of those hours who is authorized to approve new members or process invites from the admin menu to prospective new members. At no time during such regular and customary hours of operation, shall a prospective new member be told they must wait until a certain member of staff arrives before they may be approved for an invite to membership in that league.

Cheating

Cheating in all forms in games as well as attempt to cheat or game the system with GreatLeague Bux or the touranment system are prohibited under these rules. Cheating will result in players being removed and/or banned and leagues that show a consistent pattern of condoning and enabling cheating may be suspected and/or closed.

Duplicate Accounts and Clones

At no time shall the staff and members of a league knowing maintain, or allow others to maintain, duplicate accounts or cloned IDs and accounts for any reason. It shall be considered cheating for staff or members to allow duplicate accounts to enter into tournaments and receives statistics and GreatLeague Bux. Staff may not use such accounts to enable themselves to play in their own tournaments by either playing under the duplicate account or subustituting at the tables for that account. Any league engaging in these activities may be suspended or perhaps even shutdown and the staff involved may be removed from that league.

Customizing League Web site

League owners may customize the league web site as allowed via the admin tools in the menu, or by using a re-direct code to a customized web site. The latter, however, must include all the necessary navigation elements and GreatLeague.com information linked and contained in the standard GreatLeague.com league web site. GreatLeague.com strictly prohibits the use of coding or graphics on customized league web sites that would violate the trademark or copyright ownership or rights of others, including other GreatLeague.com leagues that may use original content on their customized league web sites. If you don't have permission to use others work on your sites, you don't have GreatLeague.com authorization to use it. Additionally, at no time shall any league put any content on their site attacking another GreatLeague.com league.

Consequences of Violating the GreatLeague.com Terms of Use Agreement

GreatLeague.com may change this Terms of Use at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate all changes to the GreatLeague.com leagues community.
